Overview

What is SunDog: Resurrection?
This is a re-make of the 1980's game, released on the old Atari ST computer system (Fansite: www.atari.st) The original game is widely considered to be ahead of its time; it was a game where the player would explore a small galaxy of star systems, each with a set of planets, each planet with a set of cities, and each city with a set of buildings.

Players would interact with other people (computer-controlled) to buy and sell, fly from one planet to another, and engage in fights both in the streets and in outer space. The core concept was to bring trade goods from across the galaxy to build a growing colony on the starting planet.

Using the OpenSource community from SourceForge, a group of programmers and designers is expanding the original concept with new ideas and a much larger universe.

Game Graphics
For the sanity of all involved, we are not attempting to create anything earth-shattering with graphics. The fun of this game is the extensive exploration, and the idea of role-playing in an extensive universe. The original game features simple graphics, and we will be building on their ideas, but with higher resolution and a re-thinking of some of the ideas (like the ship's cockpit).
